Deane Moore
CEO
Deane is a qualified actuary with over 30 years’ experience. He developed Metropolitan’s original with-profit annuity product and South Africa’s first inflation-linked annuity product. Deane has extensive local and international experience in corporate development and strategy, marketing and investment services. Prior to starting Just in South Africa, he held senior positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Friends Provident (UK) and MMI Group.
Gysbert Pienaar
Financial Director
Gysbert has 20 years’ experience at executive and senior management level in the banking and insurance industry. He has worked in various parts of Africa and joined Just in April 2017 after seven years as COO of LibFin. Gysbert is a qualified chartered accountant and takes responsibility for the Finance, Risk and HR functions.
Johann Swanepoel
Product Actuary
Johann heads the team responsible for Just’s product development in South Africa. He is a qualified actuary with over 25 years’ experience. Johann has a notable track record in pension fund valuation, asset liability management and annuity innovation through his work at Alexander Forbes, Sanlam Investment Management and Momentum Employee Benefits. He holds a BCom (Insurance Science) and is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK) and a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa.
Louise Ferreira
Information Technology
Louise has strong operational and IT projects experience in the financial services sector. She has implemented strategic IT solutions across several technologies over the past 30 years in the industry. Her enterprise architecture experience is instrumental in building digital competencies on cloud-based technologies to deliver robust and secure IT systems. Louise held various IT positions at Metropolitan, Momentum and Saratoga before starting Just in South Africa. She holds a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematical Statistics, and more recently a diploma in Digital Transformation Strategy at the University of Cambridge.
Lebogang Padi
Legal & Compliance
Lebo has over 18 years’ legal and compliance experience in the financial services industry, including life insurance and pension fund administration. Before joining Just in 2022, she held an Executive position at Constantia Insurance Group, and prior to that was Head of Legal & Compliance for the Sanlam Developing Markets division for nearly 10 years. She has extensive regulatory experience, having worked for the then Financial Services Board (now Financial Services Conduct Authority) within the insurance division. Lebo holds a law degree and other compliance, governance and management programme certificates from the University of Johannesburg. She also recently completed a management programme from Henley Business School. Lebo is a member of both the Compliance Institute and Institute of Directors South Africa.
Priya Soobramoney
Operations
Priya has extensive experience in the financial services industry leading complex client service and administration operations. Before joining Just SA in 2023, she held senior and executive roles at Old Mutual, Amazon Web Services and Vitality Life (UK). She is skilled at helping organisations scale and transform at pace. Priya has a BSc in Computer Science, an MBA from the University of Stellenbosch and a CIO qualification from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford.
Thiren Pillay
Risk Management
Thiren governs Just’s market, credit and operational risk in South Africa. He has 20 years’ experience in risk management and internal audit. Thiren previously held senior risk positions at Hollard, DBSA and Liberty Life before joining Just in 2016. He holds an MBA from UCT and is a certified internal auditor.
